Feeling frustrated with your website’s search rankings?
Are you sick of hearing from SEO consultants who talk a big game but don’t actually do anything helpful? I’m here to change that. I’ve been building websites for nearly two decades and working with search engines for over 12 years, so I know what works and what doesn’t. I’ll tell you exactly how to improve your traffic without charging you a dollar, and if you like my advice, we can work together to make sure your site gets the love it deserves in Google Search.
If you’re not getting the traffic you want, or if you are but want more, there are two things you need to do:
- Set up Google Webmaster Tools.
- Get your site ready for search engine optimization (SEO).
Google Webmaster Tools is a free service from Google that helps webmasters understand the quality of their sites and provides tools for improving that quality. If a page has any problems that affect SEO—like broken links or duplicate content—the tool will let you know so that they can be fixed. You can also use this tool to submit your sitemap (a file on your website listing all of its pages) so Google can crawl it more easily and find all of your content.
I can help, and I’ll tell you exactly what I’d do.
I can help you with your website.
I can help you with your SEO.
I can help you with your ranking.
I can help you with conversion rate, ROI, traffic and sales.
Here are the top five things we can do together:
#1. Make sure Google knows your site exists.
- Make sure you have a website. It seems like this should be obvious, but I often find that people don’t realize their websites are simply not available to Google to crawl!
- Make sure your website is well-designed and well-optimized for the search engines. A few tips:
- Make sure your site loads quickly (Google loves fast sites)
- Make sure there are no outdated pages on your site (Google doesn’t like outdated content)
- Make sure all internal links go somewhere useful and not just 404 errors (Google likes non-404s)
- Make sure that your website is listed in Google Webmaster Tools so Google knows about it!
#2. Make sure Google knows what you sell.
If you want to get more traffic from Google, then you have to make sure that Google knows what it is that you’re selling.
To do this, we need to use the right keywords in our content, meta title and description tags, H1-6 tags and image alt tags.
#3. Make sure Google knows that people like you.
Google is constantly trying to rank the best websites for its users. This means that if you want to be one of those sites, you need to make Google happy by giving it all the information it needs about your site and how people feel about it.
Google wants to know that people like your site, and that they are happy with it. It also wants to know that your site is trustworthy and reliable, credible and authoritative, popular – basically anything that will convince Google that your website deserves higher rankings than other similar sites (more on this in a minute).
#4. Make sure Google knows your site is fast and secure.
Make sure Google knows your site is fast and secure.
Google has a new algorithm to rank secure sites. If you’re not sure if your site is secure, here are some things to check:
- Is it HTTPS?
- Do all major browsers support HTTPS?
- Are there any mixed content warnings when using the browser’s developer tools? If so, fix them!
Google has a new algorithm to rank fast sites. If you’re not sure if your site is fast enough for Google’s liking, here are some things to check:
- Does it load quickly in all major browsers on desktop computers and mobile devices? (Speed tests can help here.)
- Is there any unnecessary bloat like too many ads or scripts slowing down page speed? (Use tools like Pingdom or GTMetrix.)
#5. Make sure people can buy from you (and Google knows).
- Make sure people can buy from you (and Google knows).
If you want more traffic, people need to be able to buy from you. They won’t come if they can’t buy what they want after they arrive. And Google search will only send them if it thinks there’s a chance they’ll convert and make money—which means your landing page needs to look good and offer features that help them do exactly what they came there for: buying stuff.
First things first: make sure your contact form has a clear call to action (CTA) like “Contact Us.” Make sure it’s easy for customers to find on every page of your website—not just the home page or some far-removed subpage that no one ever goes on anymore because the site changed so much since then that nobody even remembers what used to be there anymore! You should also have links everywhere in case someone wants other ways of contacting you besides through forms; this way, everyone who visits gets access even if their preferred method isn’t available yet—or at all! This can include social media accounts such as Facebook pages with links back up top where users could see them without having any kind of account set up beforehand.”
